2Cents: Is facebook too slow?

One of the major reasons as to why a lot of people feel that Facebook wastes their time is because Facebook primarily concentrates on the social side of the tool alone.

It is 2018 – and you still can’t make payments with the double apps that they force you to install (if you ever used WeChat, you would know how useful things can get).

You can’t order food through Facebook (you can even order via Pathao, a ride sharing app), and even the f-commerce options are limited to sending messages and seeing pictures (once you see business-es like shopify, you will realize how useless the Facebook facilities are and how they enable these third party entities).

You can order an Uber from the Google Maps app, but you can’t order a Lyft from Facebook Locations.

You can find address locations from Facebook pages, but you still have to resort to Google for directions on how to go there.

You can send an SMS via Messenger, but you can’t make a call to local or international numbers (think Skype or Viber).

Overall, I feel that by concentrating so much on making things social – facebook is losing out on being useful to the people who are less social in real life. Their feature development needs to scale up pretty soon, and this pace is surely not how the future is going to span out.
